Mother kept records of each flight she made in B24's or B47's. She has listed a
total number of 658 flight hours and over 124 trips with over 1791
patients/pow's on board and five transatlantic trips with wounded.
She so enjoyed her time in England during the War. She and my Father( Maj.
Robert Lane) were married in Beeston, England just outside Wendling in May of
1945.
They returned to the States and raised a family of five daughters. She was able
to attend several reunions and reconnect with Nurse friends she made while in
the service. She was very proud of her service but very humble about the
sacrifices that were made by all.
