Remarks:
Thelma was my mom's friend in nursing school at St. Luke's Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. In 1941 she and my mom, Josephine Wright, graduated from nursing school and went to Miami to work in a hospital. After Pearl Harbor they signed up to serve in the war. They did basic training and worked at the base hospital in Georgia, then went to Lexington, KY, for flight and bivouac training. They shipped to NY and from there went by ship to Australia. Their unit was the first to go to the north coast of New Guinea. Mom lost touch with Thelma many years after the war. I think Thelma's husband was nicknamed "Brownie," but I don't remember his last name or where they lived. Tana Silva
