Cecile Anne Sirois Sartorelli... 830th... served from 1944 to 1946
"Your Rose Garden (section in the Newsletter) is growing and filling up fast. When I saw the name of Jane Orme Markham, it brought back memories.. When we arrived in Paris as replacement nurses for the 806th.. There was no rooms for us ..so we stayed at the Plaza Athena, the field grade Officers quarters, The Elite Hotel of Paris. Jane Orme Markham was going to marry. She wanted a Catholic Ceremony before returning to the USA. She spotted me, I didn't know her and she asked me to be her only attendant at her Catholic Ceremony at the Tarre Czear Church in Paris, I said yes... Oh it was a beautiful church, I never saw her again after the ceremony and we never communicated again, but seeing her name in the Rose Garden Section, brought back memories of that gorgeous church... Why she chose me, I will never know."
I received my Flight Nurses Training at Randolph Field, San Antonio, Texas. We were the biggest class ever to graduate from there... I have framed my graduation certificate, my first and second LT's, Bars, my Flight Nurse Wings, my patches and my ribbons and my ATC Army Transport Command Medal and saved them for my Children.. It was quite a souvenir to have....
